Our history
The inaugural meeting of Friends of the Coorong was held in the Meningie Institute on November 22nd 1987. 44 were present. Our inaugural patron was Mr Colin Thiele, Author of Storm Boy.

1988 - logo designed by David Robertson of Belair 1994 - awarded "Best Logo" at the Friends of Parks forum 1988 - members help with the pelican banding project 1992 - awarded "Best Wildlife Project" at the Friends of Parks forum 1990 - Colossal Coorong Clean-up 1990 - awarded "Best Community Project" at the Friends of Parks forum 1991 - Harry Wallace makes a herbarium for the Coorong 1996 - awarded "Best Public Education Project" at the Friends of parks forum 1992 - adopted the Lakes Nature Trail at Salt Creek 1992 - awareded "Best Trail" at the Friends of parks forum |
